Landon’s First Birthday: Trading Cake for Hot Dogs!

Not every first birthday session has to include cake—and Landon proved that a hot dog smash can be just as adorable (and a lot more unique)!

For his milestone session at Rachel Good Photography, Landen celebrated turning ONE with a fun American-themed backyard cookout setup that was absolutely perfect for his hot dog smash. The patriotic blue décor, stars, balloons, rustic details, and playful touches created the perfect backdrop for this all-American birthday celebration. Instead of digging into a traditional cake, Landen enjoyed a hot dog smash, making his session uniquely his own and creating memories his family will never forget.

One of the sweetest details from Landon's session was the little wooden car featured in several of his portraits. This special prop wasn't just chosen for the birthday setup—it was also used during Landon's newborn session one year ago. Seeing him sit inside the very same car that once held him as a tiny newborn was a heartwarming reminder of just how much he has grown during his first year of life.

Milestone sessions are about more than celebrating a birthday—they're about documenting a child's journey.
